Breda McInerney

Breda_McInerney

Breda McInerney, who died suddenly on 18 August 2011, was chairperson of our Pastoral Council. Breda, also known as Patricia, was heavily involved in many different aspects of parish life. As well as being chair of our Council, Breda coordinated our Eucharistic Ministers, collected the weekly Family Offering door-to-door, helped with the counting, and kept the notice boards in the Church continually up-to-date. She was involved in the bereavement group, organised the Parish Outings, arranged the annual Christmas party, represented the parish in meetings with our sister parishes in Mount Argus and Rathmines, and regularly provided tea and baked goods for any parish gathering. She also prepared the newsletter every week, and helped update this website. Her dedication to her home parish was whole-hearted. She will be sadly and sorely missed.

Breda was also on the Board of CROSSCARE, the diocesan agency, worked with the scouting movement and was involved in many other good works in the archdiocese. We extend our sympathy to her brother, nephews, nieces, cousins and her lifelong friend Maura. She will be sadly missed.

May she rest in peace, Amen.

Building Hope
.
Pilgrim God, we give you thanks and praise.
You constantly journey with us even in our darkness and doubts.
We seek your way of loving kindness to walk together as one family.
Open our eyes to recognise you in the faces of one another,
in the breaking of bread and in the splendour of creation.
May the risen Christ sow seeds of hope and new life deep within us.
May our hearts and minds be filled with your Word, bringing forth truth, justice and peace.
May the Holy Spirit working in and through us do much more
than we can dare to imagine as we live out our baptismal calling in humble and loving service.
We make this our prayer through Christ Our Lord. Amen.

Mary, Mother of the Church, pray for us.
St Laurence O’Toole, pray for us.
St Kevin, pray for us.
St Brigid, pray for us.
