Breda McInerney, who died suddenly on 18 August 2011, was chairperson of our Pastoral Council. If anybody is interested in becoming involved in the Council, please contact Fr. Gerry at  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it  or on 086 8220956.

Breda, also known as Patricia, was heavily involved in many different aspects of parish life. As well as being chair of our Council, Breda coordinated our Eucharistic Ministers, collected the weekly Family Offering door-to-door, helped with the counting, and kept the notice boards in the Church continually up-to-date. She was involved in the bereavement group, organised the Parish Outings, arranged the annual Christmas party, represented the parish in meetings with our sister parishes in Mount Argus and Rathmines, and regularly provided tea and baked goods for any parish gathering. She also prepared the newsletter every week, and helped update this website. Her dedication to her home parish was whole-hearted. She will be sadly and sorely missed.

Breda was also on the Board of CROSSCARE, the diocesan agency, worked with the scouting movement and was involved in many other good works in the archdiocese. We extend our sympathy to her brother, nephews, nieces, cousins and her lifelong friend Maura. She will be sadly missed.

May she rest in peace, Amen.

Dear Guardian Angel, go for me to the church, there kneel down at Mass for me. At the Offertory, take me to God and offer Him my service: What I am, what I have, offer as my gift. At the Consecration, with your seraphic strength, adore my Saviour truly present, praying for those who have loved me, for those who have offended me, and for those now deceased, that the blood of Jesus may purify them all. During Holy Communion bring me the Body and Blood of Jesus uniting Him with me in spirit, so that my heart may become His dwelling place. Plead with Him, that through His sacrifice all people throughout the world may be saved. When the Mass ends, bring home to me and to every home, the Lord’s blessing. Amen.
