Public Witness

From the Irish Catholic, 15 April 2021 – Fr Alex displays the Cross outside our church after the Good Friday Passion Ceremony, as an act of public witness.

Good Friday 2021

Luke 24:46-48 ‘So you see how it is written that the Christ would suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, and that, in his name, repentance for the forgiveness of sins would be preached to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses to this.’ (Gospel, 3rd Sunday of Easter)

We traditionally devote the month of May to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Pope Francis urges everyone to pray the Rosary during May.
.
Queen of the May.
Bring flowers of the rarest, bring blossoms the fairest,
From garden and woodland and hillside and dale;
Our full hearts are swelling, our glad voices telling
The praise of the loveliest flower of the vale!
.
O Mary, we crown thee with blossoms today!
Queen of the Angels and Queen of the May.
.
Their lady they name thee, their mistress proclaim thee,
Oh, grant that thy children on earth be as true.
As long as the bowers are radiant with flowers,
As long as the azure shall keep its bright hue.
